Dixie Dot Kids Craft Club - FAQs

1. What times are you open?

We are open from 8:30am-5:30pm.

 Sessions run from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pmbut we open earlier and close later to help those parents who work. We do not charge any extra for this drop off/collection time but do ask that parents are strict with timings and do not arrive any earlier than 8.30 or later than 5.30pm  

2. What are the prices?  

We charge £25 for a half day (9.30-12.30/1.30-4.30) or £40 for a full day (9.30-4.30)

3. When do you run your Craft Club?

 We aim to run them every school holiday throughout the year.

4. What activities do you do?

 Our camps are entirely based on fun so the children will play make and create lots of great items. We may teach them to make slime or jewellery, paint some pottery with special themes, learn the art of marbling or even design and maketheir own Craft Club T shirt! We will also regularly do quizzes or games so the children have time to relax during the day too.  Please note activities vary from session to sessionand not all options are always available.

 

5. How is the day organised?

 We believe that to help children grow their wings it’s best to put some responsibility on their shoulders! As such they are encouraged to help keep the studio tidy, set up the tables and clean the equipments after use.

In between, well, we make a mess!  Depending on the sessions for the day we may run one longer or two shorter crafts workshops before stopping for lunch, waving goodbye to morning friends and hello to afternoon friends! Then we do more workshops in the afternoon before finishing, tidying and cleaning at 4.30pm.

 6. How many children are at Craft Club?

We can take a maximum of 20 children at any one time, which we sometimes will split into two groups of 10 depending on the activity. This way all children are able to work together, make friends and also be well supervised.

 

7. Are you Ofsted Registered?

 No, we are not OFSTED registered as there is no requirement for us to be so as we are providing Arts & Crafts. This means we are unable to accept childcare vouchers towards your payments. All staff are DBS checked and first aid trained. 

8. What should my child bring to Craft Club?

Your child will need to bring a Packed Lunch, a Snack for their morning break and a refillable drink. It is suggested they wear old clothes too as arts and crafts may sometimes get messy!

 

9. What is your cancellation policy?

 You will be receive a 100% refund if we’re given at least 14 days notice

You will receive a 50% credit if we’re given up to 7-14 days notice

You will receive 0% credit if we’re given less than 7 days notice

We must be notified as early as possible if your child will not be attending Craft Club due to illness or injury. You will not be eligible for a refund for cancellations due to illness or injury unless we are able to refill the space.

Dixie Dot Crafts Ltd reserve the right to terminate any bookings if full payment is not received prior to the start of Craft Club. A space at Craft Club cannot be considered booked until full payment has been received and booking and payment confirmed.

 

 

11. What if my child is ill and cannot attend?

Please advise us as soon as possible if your child cannot attend due to illness. Please refer to our Cancellation policy above.

 

12. What if I want to make changes to my booking?

Providing we have spaces available at your chosen dates, we will endeavour to amend your booking as required.

 

13. Do you accept Child Care Vouchers?

 We do not accept Child Care Vouchers anymore but we can offer a Summer Payment Plan so you can spread the cost of your Childcare. Please contact us to discuss.

 

14. I can’t book on the course I want it’s saying it’s full.

 It’s always worth getting in touch with us in the office if you discover the dates you require are full as we keep a close eye on numbers and sometimes it is possible for us to accommodate your request. We can always pop you on the waiting list!

 

15. I can’t remember what dates I have booked?

Please check your emails as all bookings will have received a booking confirmation – if you are unable to find it please give us a call.

 

16. What ages is Craft Club for?

We can accept children from ages 5-12 and endeavour to put them in groups of a similar age where necessary.
